  • Latcham Direct

Latcham Direct are a Print Management and Mailing house based in Bristol. Formed in early 2010 they were looking for a system which would pull together into one system all the functions of the company from Print Management, Data Processing, Production and Mailing through to Finance. Many systems could address all these functions independently but it was an essential requirement to find a single system which had the capabilities to manage all the required departmental functions.

Redeye met these requirements, giving all users, subject to definable user profiles, access to all information in one central system.

The system provides the Print Management team with the tools to control the buying and selling of print and services whether it is for direct delivery to the client or as a part of a fulfilment project. With Redey’s’s multi warehouse, multi location stock control system they have the systems in place to manage clients stock. Using the integrated Redeye web ordering interface, clients can also view their own stock levels and call off stock as required or generate their own repeat orders for previous printed work.

Production of Digital and Mailing work is managed through the setting up of job bags and works instructions, where detailed specifications can be defined for the different elements of production including data processing, personalisation, enclosing and despatch. Stock is allocated to jobs with full traceability of when, where and which jobs the stock was used on.

As an organisation which works to high quality standards, we worked together to develop a Non Conformance module, this allows issues to be logged, assessed, rectified and corrective actions recorded, with designated Quality Assurance users having the authority to ensure that corrective measures have been implemented.

In the Spring of 2012 we provided integration between the web based, Xerox Web2Print system and Redeye which, on the placing of a Web2print orders, seamlessly creates jobs and orders within Redeye, allowing for the accurate allocation, picking and despatch of stock ultimately through to invoicing.

  • Calderstone Design and Print Limited

Being a long standing user of Redeye for many years, Calderstone Design & Print Limited knows the benefits of the comprehensive management information system. The importance of setting up a roster of preferred suppliers, identifying their capabilities and the types of products they can manufacture, which allows accurate recommendation of suppliers by Redeye for specific jobs.

The detailed creation of orders from the initial enquiry, based on the order quantity required for the job and the relevant supplier thus preventing the re-entry of the original job specification. Using the job bag module, several orders for the same project can be accumulated into the one job together with sundry charges allowing jobs elements to be invoiced as a whole or separately.

At the end of 2010, Calderstone required a total rebrand, with the introduction of new logos and corporate images to be effective from 1st January 2012. Redeye was modified at little expense to Calderstone to reflect the new image with a seamless switchover. With the benefit of user definable documentation layout and text, the process of switching from one company to another was simplified.

  • Mailadoc

Mailadoc are a mailing house formed in 2009 who at that time were looking for a system which would assist in the management of their production processes. Having experience of Redeye in previous companies, Mailadoc knew that Redeye had the functionality to address their issues and knew that Quaystone could deliver.

Utilising the Production elements of Redeye, including the Quoting, Job bag and Works Instruction systems they are able to manage the fulfilment and mailing aspects of the business. Combining this with the Stock Control module they have the tools to manage clients mailing requirements plus providing stock for OfficeMail, their hybrid mail solution.

  • Vision Catering Solutions

Vision Catering Solutions came to Quaystone in the later months of 2009, looking for a system which would address their requirements to buy and sell a range of catering products from selective suppliers.

Armed with a spreadsheet of products, suppliers, costs, retail prices and pack sizes, VCS looked for a quick turnaround in getting a system up and running by the end of January 2010. Quaystone implemented Redeye and imported the spreadsheet details, resulting in a database of products with their preferred suppliers.

Vision Catering Solutions now use Redeye to create sales orders from catering companies and hotels and to raise back-to-back purchase orders against the preferred suppliers, with the supplier delivering directly to the client.

With the introduction of the warehousing and the stock control module, VCS are able to hold stock of certain lines in order to deliver direct.

Price changes initiated by the suppliers are imported directly into Redeye together with specific customer agreed discounts.

  • Aktiv Design Marble and Granite

Aktiv Design is a marble, granite and quartz fabrication company formed in the late 1990s. At the time they were dependant on generating quotes using pencil, paper and a calculator and required a computerised system which would store customer details, worktop prices and generally allow them to manage quotes and prices. Although previous to the formation of Quaystone Business Solutions, we worked together to develop a quoting system which was adaptable and easy to use. Since that period, the system now known as Firebelly, has been developed and enhanced with Aktiv Design to incorporate further modules to help the managing of a busy fabrication business including sales ordering, job tickets, cutting sheets, fitting dockets all the way through to invoicing.

Firebelly has become an integral part of the structure of the company, providing management information for analysis, chasing outstanding quotes, providing visibility of anticipated invoicing and work in progress. With links to CAD systems, all information related to a job is accessible within one central system.

Firebelly, has streamlined production, making the company efficient, reducing costs and provided visibility of profitability on a weekly/monthly basis, turning Aktiv Design from a company operating out of a garage to a 10,000 sq foot manufacturing facility.
